Tenancy Introduction

Chambers is presently recruiting

Background

Chambers has had a phenomenally successful first two years as a civil set, with the quality and volume of instructions to Chambers growing at a very fast rate (overall income and billing up by over 15% in the last year.) We have successfully secured and retained clients who provide interesting and challenging work and 2006 is again looking to be a very successful year.  We are recognized as being among the leading sets in the field of police law, where members act for virtually all the Police Forces across England and Wales.  We have a strong public law reputation with a team comprising six junior Treasury Counsel and our Employment, Immigration and Personal Injury portfolios continue to expand. We are committed to developing these practice areas.

Requirement

During the coming twelve months, Chambers seeks to expand the level and quality of its instructions and enhance its reputation as the top quality set.  Specifically, we seek to establish ourselves as the clear leader set in Police Law, to expand our public law and personal injury work further and to build on the success of our employment team.  In order to achieve these aims, we have identified a requirement to recruit a number of civil practitioners with a proven track-record and with the potential to contribute to the success of chambers.  While our inclination is to bolster the middle and senior tiers of chambers, we place great emphasis on the quality of advocacy, potential and teamwork and would therefore consider any candidate, or group of candidates, with the abilities and attributes to enhance our existing reputation and profile.  We are particularly interested in group applications.
