The inquests into the deaths of the victims of the 7/7 bombings begin today (11 October 2010) at the Royal Courts of Justice before the Right Honourable Lady Justice Hallett D.B.E, sitting as Assistant Deputy Coroner for Inner West London. Fiona Barton (leader) and Charlotte Ventham are instructed by the City of London Police, and Jonathan Dixey is instructed by the Metropolitan Police.

On 7th July 2005 four Al Qaeda associated terrorists detonated three bombs on the London Underground System and one bomb on a double-decker bus, killing 52 people. The Inquests, expected to last several months, will look at the actions of the police and MI5 surrounding the events of that day.

Members of 5 Essex Court have extensive experience in handling Inquests and Public Inquiries of all scales.
