Background

Nick was educated at Wimbledon College, Manchester University and Lincoln College Oxford.

He accepted tenancy at 5 Essex Court in 1981 having worked for Unilever between 1977 and 1980 on a management scholarship.

Police Law

Nick represents the Police in all aspects, particularly in the misconduct field, advising on policy issues, pensions law and Police finance issues. He also represents the Police in all aspects of civil law including assault, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Nick has extensive experience in representing the Police and others at Inquests and Public Inquiries.

Nick also represented Police Forces, Police Authorities and Local Authorities in the recent Police area restructuring plans.

Public protection and the relationship between Article 8 and the public interest.

Public/Administrative Law

As well as matters in the Administrative Court on behalf of the Police and Police Authorities Nick appears on behalf of Fire Authorities in respect of pension matters.

Lectures

Nick has lectured to Police Authorities, Police Forces and outside bodies on various aspects including Police restructuring, disclosure issues and post incident management procedures.
